Bibliolog allows you to immerse yourself in biblical stories, experience them together, and interpret them. Our video explains the process, origins, and possibilities of bibliolog.
Bibliolog is a made-up word combining "Bible" and "dialogue." It refers to a method of interpreting biblical texts together in a group. A leader guides the process and ensures that all contributions are valued and heard. The biblical text is not changed, but rather the gaps left open in the Bible text are filled in. In this way, the Bible becomes tangible and exciting. This often leads to a deeper understanding of what the text is trying to convey.
Bibliolog has been around in Germany since 1999. That year, the first training course was held in Hamburg under the guidance of the method's inventor, Peter Pitzele. Since then, bibliolog has become increasingly widespread. Several thousand people have now been trained in how to use this method.
Our film shows how a bibliologue works, how it came about, and why people always say it's fun.
